What is the building capacity?

Do I need to pay a deposit? Do you offer a payment plan?
For 2023 we require the following: Firstly, a R10,000 non-refundable Booking Fee.* Secondly, a signed Wedding Contract. Once we have these 2 things, the date is yours!
* The Booking Fee only secures your date. It is not a deposit. If the client postpones or cancels the function date, the client does not get the Booking Fee back.
Yes, we do offer a payment plan. You are welcome to make smaller, partial payments of a pre-approved amount, prior to your wedding, so in effect, creating your own payment plan on your own schedule. If you choose a payment plan, a Payment Plan contract will be drawn up to suit your wedding terms and conditions that will be an Annexure to the Wedding Contract. A set amount will be payable every month, either on the 1st of the month or the 30th of the month.
How do I reserve a date?
To reserve a wedding date, please send an email to booking@thenut.farm with your preferred wedding date. Please include a backup date in case your preferred date is unavailable. Prior to booking a date, we encourage you to visit us at The Nut Farm to see the venue for yourself. Dates are reserved once the Booking Fee is reflected in our bank account and a signed wedding contract is on file.
Do I need to schedule a tour or can I just stop by?
The Nut Farm is privately owned so we kindly request that all tours are by appointment only. You can request a tour date here.
Is there a minimum guest count?
We have a minimum guest count of 50 and a maximum count of 200.
Will there be another wedding the same day?
At The Nut Farm, we only host one wedding each day to ensure that each couple’s event is special and receives our full attention.
Do you allow dogs onsite to play a part in our wedding day?
We are dog-friendly, with some specific stipulations. Dogs are allowed (with pre-approval by Management) at the ceremony and photo session. Animals, other than service animals, are NOT allowed under the roof or near food. Dogs must be on a leash and someone must be responsible for them other than the bride and groom
My preferred dates are unavailable. Do you have a cancellation waiting list?
We do not keep a cancellation waiting list because cancellations are unpredictable. Send us an email with your preferred date and will contact you if it does become available.
What time will I have access to the venue to decorate?
You will have access to the venue at the time listed on your wedding contract.
Do you include a "wedding day coordinator?"
From the day you sign your Wedding Contract and pay your Booking Fee to secure your date, you will be allocated our in-house Wedding Coordinator who will be able to guide you with the likes of table set-up to menu options, a few other small things. Our Wedding Coordinator is not a Wedding Planner, so if you are in need of someone to help you choose your colour scheme, flower arrangements and stationery, that would be a completely different person. Our Wedding Coordinator will be at the venue on your wedding day to calm your nerves, coordinate the timeline of your day and make sure everyone has a great time.

Do you accept card payments at the bar?
We are a cash-less facility and only accept cards. We do open tabs per couple.
Planning Questions
Can we have fireworks on the property?
Fireworks are not permitted on the property. Sparklers are only permitted indoors.
Can vehicles be left overnight?
Unfortunately, no vehicles are permitted to be left overnight. Perhaps suggest to your guests to arrange a lift club. Our main gates are locked at midnight.
We are using a rental company. Can they drop items off or pick them up outside of the rental period?
The venue is only available to you and your team from 08h00 on your wedding day. Please make sure all deliveries are delivered between the hours of 08h00 and 10h00 to allow enough time for set-up before the start of the function. All collections are to be pre-arranged with the function team before the function date. We would greatly appreciate if you could advise the relevant vendors of this policy.
Are candles allowed?
Yes, candles are allowed as long as the flame is completely contained in a candle holder. Tapered candles and any type of hanging candles will not be allowed for safety reasons.
Can we take photos around the farm on our wedding day?
Sure! Just ask us and we would be happy to make recommendations.
Can we nail decorations to the walls or hang things like streamers or lanterns from the beams?
Unfortunately, no painting will be allowed to any venue property, nor the attachment or hanging, by the use of nails or hooks, of any matter to any walls. The use of Prestik is also not permitted. Should any damages of this nature occur, the bridal couple will be charged accordingly.
Do you have a outside bar for drinks before the wedding?
Yes we do. The bar will be opened on the bridal couple’s request and can serve alcoholic or non alcoholic beverages.
The outside bar service is for welcome drinks and the inside bar is more convenient for guests during the reception. This bar will run from the start of the reception until the end of the function.
We are using a décor hire company. Can they drop items off or pick them up at any time?
